Nursing Alumnae of Queen Mary's Hospital for Children

My mum Peggy Chapman (ne Simmons )worked at the hospital at night as a
cleaner and my nan (Win Simmons) worked in the laundry in the 1960s.

I remember as a child the street parade up Stanley Road and going into the
hospital grounds, and the fair which ran every year was the highlight for
me.

I was very sad to see that houses had been build on the the grounds, and
that some of the buildings were gone.

I will find a photo i have of my Nan in the laundry.
